I recently put in for a transfer because my manager has created such a hostile environment. My transfer was accepted, and he called over to the new job and spoke very negatively about me to the new manager and told him about a write up that I did not sign because he wrote false statements on it. What can I do?
Ann Kiernan replies:
This might be defamation, and could be unlawful retaliation, as well. And it probably violates your employer’s policies, too. Call HR and report that the old manager is retaliating against you for your complaints about him. If HR does not take action, call a local employment lawyer. Good luck.
