Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office agreed to pay $3.3million to resolve whistleblower claims from four former high-ranking staffers who alleged they were fired for reporting corruption. The four senior attorneys claimed that they had been axed after reporting to law enforcement officials that they believed Paxton had been abusing his office to benefit a campaign donor. In addition to the monetary settlement, the AG will personally apologize for calling the whistleblowers “rogue employees.”
