Is it legal for your employer to take photos off the cameras of employees, talking, scratching their ear etc and send them in emails for every employee within the companies to see, even other stores that are not the employees home store?
Rita Risser Chai Responds:
If the employer has a security camera system installed, you have a reasonable expectation that those cameras will be used for security purposes only—not to amuse employees. To sue for invasion of privacy is difficult, and unless you work for a huge employer, it’s not likely you could find an attorney to take this on a contingency basis. But this clearly is disrespectful and should be stopped immediately. Hopefully if this is brought to the attention of your HR department they will put a stop to it. Good luck.
